How to set up hourly bookings (time bookings)
Hourly bookings let riders book your service for a time duration (for example 1 hour, 2 hours) instead of pricing by trip distance.
Where to configure
Booking settings: https://www.meterapp.co/app/fleet/booking_settings
Fleet fares: https://www.meterapp.co/app/fleet/fleet-fares
Setup checklist
Create or confirm an hourly/time fare in Fleet Fares (your minute-based rate should be set correctly).
In Booking Settings, open the Time Bookings section and choose your Booking slot size:
15 minutes
30 minutes
45 minutes
60 minutes
Set Minimum Booking Time (optional). This must be a multiple of your slot size.
(Recommended) Set Require Pre-Payment based on your payment policy.
How hourly booking pricing works
Hourly booking estimate is calculated from your time fare and selected duration.
Example: if your rate is $1.50/min and rider books 120 minutes, estimate is about $180 before fees/taxes.
Duration must match your slot rules (for example, a multiple of 30 min if slot size is 30).
When the rider is charged
This depends on Require Pre-Payment in Booking Settings:
If ON: booking requires payment authorization before full confirmation. If card authorization fails or no valid payment method exists, booking can stay in pending payment until the rider updates payment.
If OFF: booking is confirmed without upfront payment and charged after trip completion per your fleet payment flow.
Upfront authorization vs final capture
For pre-paid bookings, riders may see a pending/authorized amount first.
Final capture happens in the normal completion flow for the trip.
Troubleshooting
If hourly option does not appear to riders, verify Time Bookings are enabled (slot size set) and your fare setup is complete.
If riders can’t confirm booking, check payment method status and pre-payment setting.
If duration is rejected, verify selected duration matches your slot size and minimum duration rules.
