Fleet Fares are the pricing rules your fleet creates for bookings and Meter App use.
Fleet fares vs booking options
These are different parts of the setup:
Fleet fare: The pricing itself. This is where you set the base fare, distance rate, time rate, minimum fare, fees, and other pricing details.
Booking option: The rider-facing choice a customer sees when booking on your website or in Rider App, such as Standard, XL, or Hourly.
In other words, riders do not choose a fare by name. Riders choose a booking option on your website or in Rider App, and that booking option uses the fare you assigned to it. For a broader overview of booking setup, see Bookings In Meter App.
How they work together
Create a fleet fare.
Create or edit a booking option.
Choose that fare as the booking option's default fare.
Example:
Fare name:
Airport Sedan FareBooking option name:
Standard
The rider sees Standard. Meter uses Airport Sedan Fare behind the scenes to calculate the price.
Where to manage this
Go to Fleet Fares:
From there you can:
Create and edit fleet fares
Create and edit booking options
Link each booking option to a default fare
See whether a fare is available in Meter
See whether a fare is currently used for bookings
Understanding the visibility controls
There are two different visibility controls on this page.
1. Available for Meter
Use the Available for Meter column to control whether a fare is shown inside Meter App for fleet members.
If a fare is available for Meter, fleet members can see and use it in Meter App.
If a fare is not available for Meter, it is hidden in Meter App.
Hiding a fare from Meter App does not remove it from your booking setup. If that fare is still linked to a booking option, it can still price bookings.
This is useful when you want a fare to stay active for rider bookings, but you do not want drivers using that fare manually in Meter App.
2. Strict Fare Control
Use Strict Fare Control to control what fleet members can use in Meter App.
When on, fleet members can only use fleet fares.
When off, fleet members can also use personal fares or Uber/Lyft comparison fares.
This setting helps fleets keep drivers on approved pricing only.
Available for Bookings
The Available for Bookings column helps you see whether a fare is already connected to your booking setup.
A fare is available for bookings when it is being used by:
A booking option as its default fare
A zone-to-zone fare override
If a fare is not marked as available for bookings, it is not currently being used by a booking option or a zone-to-zone fare override.
Tips
Give booking options simple customer-facing names such as Standard, XL, or Hourly.
Give fares internal names that help your team understand the pricing behind the scenes.
If you need different prices by area, keep the same booking option names and use zone-based overrides. See How to Set Zone-to-Zone Fleet Fares Across Multiple Areas.
