Troubleshooting Couldn't Complete Your Purchase on Android

Why does this happen?

There are several reasons a purchase might fail on Android:

  • Your current geographic location doesn't match the country set in your Google Play Store account.

  • Your payment method has expired or has insufficient funds.

  • Google Play Store cache is outdated.

  • A VPN is interfering with the purchase.

Step 1: Check Your Country Settings

  1. Open the Google Play Store App on your Android device.

  2. Access Your Profile Settings: At the top right, tap the profile icon.

  3. Navigate to Country and Profiles: Tap Settings > General > Account and device preferences > Country and profiles.

  4. Select the Correct Country: Tap the country you want to use for your account.

  5. Add a Payment Method: Follow the on-screen instructions to add a payment method for the selected country.

Note: You can only change your Play country once per year.

Step 2: Clear Cache and Retry

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Cache.

  2. Also clear cache for Google Play Services: Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear Cache.

  3. Restart your phone.

  4. Open the Meter app and try the purchase again.

Step 3: Check Your Payment Method

  • Make sure your payment method (credit card or Google Pay) matches the country set in your Play account.

  • Verify your card has not expired and has sufficient funds.

  • Try adding a new card or use Google Pay as an alternative.

Step 4: Disable VPN

If you are using a VPN, turn it off before making the purchase. Google may block purchases when your IP address doesn't match your Play account country.

After a Successful Purchase

If the purchase succeeds but the app still shows you as unsubscribed, try these steps:

  1. Force close the Meter app and reopen it.

  2. Go to Settings > Meter Pro > Learn More > Restore Purchases.

  3. If that doesn't work, see Why Does the App Show That I Am Not Subscribed Even Though My Subscription Is Active?

Still Not Working?

If none of the above steps work, the issue may be on Google's side. Visit Google Play Help for more assistance.
