How Passengers Can Report Trip Issues

What to do as a passenger if your trip has an incorrect start location, wrong fare, or other problems.

If you are a passenger and something went wrong with your trip (incorrect pickup location, wrong fare, missing distance, etc.), here is what you can do.

Contact Your Fleet

As a passenger, trip corrections can only be made by the fleet or driver who completed the ride. You should message the fleet directly and include:

  1. The trip link from your trip history (tap on the trip to see details and copy the link).

  2. What went wrong (e.g., "the start location should be JFK International Airport" or "the fare seems too high").

  3. Any supporting details such as the correct pickup or dropoff address.

The fleet operator or driver can then review and correct the trip on their end, including requesting a trip void if needed.

How to Find Your Fleet's Contact Info

  1. Open the Meter Rider app.

  2. Go to Activity to see your past trips.

  3. Tap on the trip in question.

  4. You will see the fleet name associated with the trip. Use the in-app messaging or the fleet's public page to reach them.

What Passengers Cannot Do

  • Passengers cannot edit trip details (start location, end location, fare) directly.

  • Passengers cannot request a trip void. Only drivers and fleet managers can do this.

  • If the fleet is unresponsive, contact us through the Meter app support chat and we can help mediate.

Common Trip Issues

  • Wrong pickup location: This can happen if GPS was inaccurate at the start of the trip. Ask your fleet to review and correct it.

  • Fare seems too high or too low: Check if the trip distance and time match what you expected. GPS gaps (tunnels, poor signal) can cause discrepancies. Your fleet can review the trip data.

  • Missing trip in history: Make sure you are signed in with the same account you used to book the ride. If the trip is still missing, contact support.
